>>Go to Start>Run Type oobe/msoobe /a (add space wherever needed)

does this mean that your windows xp is genuine? coz i'm not sure if mine is genuine and i've left behind with updates coz i'm afraid i may be caught and put into jail. the technician repaired this.
no you can never be caught or put in jail(even i 2 dont have genuine XP) .It had never happened anywhere so dont worry about it.
